Our rural lands have long been places of respite and healing. Those of us who live here know of the secret remedies hidden atop hills and in lowly valleys. We’re here to share just a little taste of this with you.

Whether it be connection through a special gathering, a workshop or herbal remedy, or a shared movement practice, Rural Remedy has something brewing just for you.

Come out and enjoy the quiet, listen to your bright inner voice. Enjoy the dark sky and the open view. Adjust your energy and adjust the pace of your life and see what benefit you can reap from that. Our Driftless region is magnetic and wonderful and we are ready to connect you to you, this place and each other.

HI, I'M EMILY...

Rural Remedy was founded with one goal in mind: connection.

Connection you to yourself, to the natural world, and to your community. We are here for it all.

Emily has been teaching in various classrooms since 2005 and is ready to meet you wherever you are for a little yoga or some big exploration, a shared meal or cup of tea, or some rich talks about the good life.

Emily began her studies of yoga in college where her first yoga teacher was also her rowing coach and the studio was the boathouse. Ever since she has refined and grown her practice under the tutelage of master teachers like Tias and Surya Little, Gabriel Halpern, Elesa Commerse, and Christina Sell. She brings the tools of yoga poses (asana), mindfulness, and breath work (pranayama) to help you live comfortably in your body and mind. She brings endless curiosity to every workshop or gathering.

Emily has always been a passionate, driven teacher. She held National Board Certification in high school biology and environmental science. She studied teaching and learning at the Harvard Graduate School of Education earning a Masters in Education. Working with diverse young people and adults has given Emily a well-crafted sense of timing, deep patience and humility and an undying eagerness to improve the lives of those around her.

Emily is here to build community through supporting and growing powerful, joy-filled and expanded humans. She shares her love and life with husband Jeff and two young children on an old farm in the Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin.
